Next: Saturday, at Michigan State.
The offense again sputtered and the Hawkeyes lost 27-7 at Penn State. Iowa managed only 184 total yards and eight first downs. It was the Hawkeyes' eighth consecutive conference loss.
Next: Saturday, vs. Illinois.
Senior TB Mike Hart ran for 215 yards and matched a career-high with three TDs as the host Wolverines beat Eastern Michigan 33-22. Hart became Michigan's career rushing leader in the process; he has 4,655 yards, breaking the record held by Anthony Thomas (4,472). It was Hart's sixth consecutive 100-yard game, and it came in the Wolverines' fourth victory in a row.

The Spartans dropped their second in a row after a 4-0 start, falling 48-41 to visiting Northwestern in overtime. The Spartans allowed 520 passing yards. Michigan State had 481 yards of offense, including 287 rushing yards. The Spartans also had five rushing touchdowns.
Next: Saturday, vs. Indiana.
The Golden Gophers kept pace early but couldn't keep up and fell 40-20 at Indiana. After Minnesota tied it at 14, it didn't score again until IU led 33-14. It was the Gophers' fourth consecutive loss. Adam Weber threw for 280 yards, with a TD and two interceptions.
Next: Saturday, at Northwestern.
C.J. Bacher threw for a school-record 520 yards and five TDs, including the game-winner in overtime, as the Wildcats outlasted host Michigan State 48-41. Northwestern missed two opportunities to win the game late in regulation. Amado Villarreal's 36-yard field-goal attempt as time expired sailed wide left. About three minutes earlier, the Wildcats botched the snap on a field-goal attempt, resulting in an incomplete pass. Northwestern was able to avenge a loss from last season, when Michigan State rallied from 35 points down to beat the Wildcats 41-38, the biggest comeback in Division I-A history.
Next: Saturday, vs. Minnesota.
