The most complete running back in the Sunshine State is looking forward to testing his considerable skills against some of the nation's top talent.

Lynn Haven (Fla.) Mosley's Enrique Davis recently was named to the East squad of the inaugural Offense-Defense All-American Bowl. The game kicks off at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4 at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and will be televised live by ESPNU.

Rivals.com is the official selection partner of the game.

"I feel like it's a great honor and I feel like I'm blessed to be in the game," Davis said.

Davis, who is currently rated as the nation's No. 2 running back, is looking forward to seeing how he stacks up against some of the top talent in the country.

"I'm curious to see how I play," Davis said. "It's like me playing at the college level. It will be the same thing as playing at the college level because of the talent on both rosters."

Davis has enjoyed being the leading rusher (he totaled more than 1,000 yards on the ground this year despite only playing about one half in most of his team's games) and top prospect at Mosley High.

"It's not just me," he said. "My line blocks and helps me get how I am. I also trust in God. That's No. 1, and without him nothing is possible. I have great speed, great cutback ability and I have great burst and breakaway speed, too.

"When a hole is not there, I can make it happen."

In keeping with the selfless theme, he continued to cite several elements that surround him in the Mosley program which have allowed him to remain successful. He has helped lead his team to back-to-back playoff appearances.

"Basically, my teammates and my coach Perry Brown have taught me a lot not only about football, but about life," Davis said. "(Brown) helps me out with anything I need to do better. I will ask him about it and he will help me. He's helped make me a leader, I feel like.

"We had a lot of young guys on our team this year and I had to step up and be a leader on the team and be ready for everything."

Davis committed to Auburn last month, which is no surprise considering that school's rich tradition of producing great running backs. One of Davis' sports heroes is Bo Jackson, who won the 1985 Heisman Trophy with the Tigers. He will, however, take more official visits, including a possible trip to Alabama.

Davis had offers from nearly every major program in the Southeast, including Florida State, Florida and Georgia.
