Murray coming back

National Signing Day isn't for another month, but Georgia will be hard-pressed to get a bigger recruit than it locked up Sunday night - quarterback Aaron Murray.

Murray made the announcement on Twitter, ending some anxious days of hand-wringing by Bulldog fans who were wondering if last week's Capital One Bowl was his last in a Georgia uniform.

Not quite.

"Blessed to be the QB for the Dawgs, not ready to leave just yet. Time to get back to work & help lead this team to a championship," Murray tweeted.

"I'm certainly pleased that after weighing his options Aaron (Murray) has decided to remain at Georgia for his senior year,' head coach Mark Richt said. "His leadership productivity have been tremendous during what has been an outstanding career. This is great for Aaron and great for Georgia."

Not only will Murray's return increase Georgia's chances for earning three straight trips to the SEC title game, but the Tampa, Fla. native has a grand opportunity to now leave Athens as the top passer in SEC history.

Murray, who has thrown for 10,091 yards, needs just 1,438 yards to pass David Greene (11,528) for the most ever and 20 touchdown passes to break Danny Wuerffel's mark for career touchdown passes which currently stands at 114.

This past year, Murray completed 249 of 386 passes for 3,893 yards and 36 touchdowns.

Murray had said last week that the NFL advisory board speculated he would be a second- or third-round selection had he decided to enter the upcoming draft.
