Henderson commits to Utah
Carlos Henderson ended his recruitment on Sunday by verbally committing to play for the University of Utah.McDonogh #35 athlete
For Henderson, the decision to play for Utah was an easy one. "The reason I wanted to commit is to get away from home, focus on playing football, and focus on using my talent. I want to play with my brother. He said we could do some damage up there," Henderson said.
The opportunity to play with his older brother Charles, who is a freshman wide receiver for the Utes, was another huge selling point for Henderson. "It's a blessing to play with my brother. I feel good about it," he said.
Henderson is a versatile athlete that plays running back, receiver, and cornerback for McDonough 35. According to Henderson, he could end up playing any of those three positions for the Utes, although he is likely to start at receiver. "They say I can play whatever position I choose - running back, receiver, or cornerback. I think I can help them a lot at the slot position or at running back. At either one of them I can help them win games," he said. "My strength is catching the ball and my quickness."
Henderson has developed a strong relationship with Utah offensive coordinator Brian Johnson. "Coach Johnson and I have got a good relationship. He recruited my brother two years ago and we got a good relationship going from there. He tells me that I'll fit in great up there. He told me I could do a good job up there at Utah," he said.
Henderson plans on taking an official visit to Utah in January.
