Warhawk GameDay

With the Warhawk's 2012 season off to a 1-0 start, Head Coach Todd Berry's biggest task this week has been to keep his team grounded.  The third year head coach literally had his team jump off cloud nine this week, but only after the opening kickoff will its effectiveness be discovered.

What to watch for:

  • The Warhawk defense gave up several long pass plays last week against Arkansas.  This week's Auburn team has faster receivers that could allow any secondary slip up to end in the end zone.
  • Defensive back Otis Peterson struggled last week in his debut after having missed all of last season due to injury.  Rob'Donovan Lewis gets the nod to start at the position this week.
  • The unsung hero of ULM's defensive performance was linebacker Ray Stovall.  The sophomore linebacker collected five tackles, including a good knockdown of Razorback QB Tyler Wilson.  Look for him to continue his underrated play this week against the Tigers.
  • With the injury to Centarius Donald, senior Mitchell Bailey will get the back-up role to Jyruss Edwards.

Odds makers put the Warhawks as 16-16.5 point underdogs. The game could be closer, or be a complete blow out, depending on how ULM responds to their early season success.
