Jones, Williams added to watch lists
Two more Alabama names have been added to college football's watch lists.
Barrett Jones is a candidate for the Rimington Trophy, which is presented to the nation's top center by the Boomer Esiason Foundation. In 2011 the 6-foot-5, 302-pound senior from Germantown, Tenn. was a unanimous First-Team All-American and won the Outland Trophy as the nation's top interior lineman.
Jones played mostly at left tackle for UA on the national championship team. He is moving to center for 2012 following the graduation of William Vlachos.
The SEC has 10 players on the Rimington list, the most of any conference.
Michael Williams has been named to the Mackey Award watch list, which is presented to the best tight end.
The former Pickens County High School star had 16 receptions in 2011 for 191 yards and two touchdowns. The 6-foot-6, 269-pound senior was also a substantial contributor the blocking that powered Alabama's 2011 run game.
Northridge High School graduate and current Mississippi State standout Malcolm Johnson joins Williams on the list. The sophomore had 11 receptions for 206 yards and three touchdowns in 2011.
