McDonald has BC in top two
Jack McDonald was one of a select few players to spend the weekend at Boston College and the visit went incredibly well for the Dorchester (Mass.) Boston College High offensive guard who said the Eagles are among his frontrunners.
It was a busy weekend for the 6-foot-5, 275-pound prospect since he got a chance to talk with all the coaches, meet some players, see a two-hour scrimmage and then spend the night at Boston College.
The trip was valuable and informative and McDonald said Boston College is definitely high on his list.
"First we got over there and we all have offers from them so we met with admissions and we sat in the position meetings with all the coaches and players to get a feel for what it would be like to actually go there," McDonald said.
"After that we got to meet with the head coach, Frank Spaziani, for a while and had a good talk with him to see what he's like. I really like him and I actually love all the coaches there.
"After that we went out to the scrimmage and we got to watch them work out. They had a two-hour scrimmage and we watched the whole thing and it was really good to see all of that."
Boston College and Maryland have emerged as the favorites for McDonald, who is also hearing from Connecticut, Duke, Syracuse, Temple and others.
The proximity of Boston College to home, the closeness of family and McDonald's familiarity with the school and the football program could all play a factor in his decision-making process.
There is no set date for a commitment yet but McDonald said something will probably happen before the start of his senior season.
"With it being so close and my family there to watch all the games, I really like the o-line coach and all the coaches so I'd say that's definitely one of my top schools right now," McDonald said.
"Right now I'm going to wait it out. I can see myself making a decision in the summertime or before the season but that could all change."
