In today's East-West Shrine Game, featuring some of the top college players in the country, WKU senior running back Bobby Rainey made a case for himself in the NFL Draft.

Rainey, playing for the West, rushed 6 times for 33 yards as the West won 24-17.

After the game, IHS Radio host Brandon Phillips caught up with Rainey.

Overall experience:
"It was a great experience, a new experience. There were 50 plus scouts at the hotels, they would set up appointments, and it was like a job interview. We would have meetings, then practice then meet with scouts. You might finish with one scout and another one would be there waiting for you."

How was practice?:
"Practice was good, my first day was a little iffy. The offense was a west coast like WKU but had a few kinks, which took adjustments. After the first day it was better each day."

First game in 2 months, did you feel game-rusty?:
"I thought I might be, practice really helped though. I felt rusty the first few plays of the game, didn't have a rhythm, but then I calmed down and started playing."

Thoughts on your performance:
Felt good, felt I came through on the most important drive and put us in position to win the game. It was tough rotating with 3 backs and playing all special teams, a different experience, but felt very good about the game.

Where do you go from here?:
I'm heading back to Orlando to continue working out, and preparing for the NFL. Planning a pro day back at WKU sometime in the spring but don't have a date yet.
