Rivals.com Pac-10 all-freshman team
The Pac-10 used to be known for spectacular passing offenses, and the emergence of three outstanding first-year receivers indicates that could be the case again.
Woods is our freshman of the year. He led the Trojans with 65 catches for 792 yards and six touchdowns. He also averaged 25.6 yards on 38 kickoff returns and took one back for a touchdown. Wilson led the conference with an 18.3-yard average, and he finished with 55 receptions for 1,006 yards and six touchdowns. Allen had 46 catches for 490 yards and five touchdowns, but he was slowed by an ankle injury.
Of course, the Pac-10 has some up-and-coming players ready to defend against those receivers. USC freshman cornerback Nickell Robey had five picks in his debut season, while Arizona State defensive end Junior Onyeali had 6.5 sacks and Arizona defensive tackle Justin Washington had six.
Rather then bypass some deserving candidates, we decided not to necessarily be position-specific (i.e., guards, tackles, ends, free safeties, etc.) on our all-freshman team in the secondary. In addition, no freshman quarterback saw enough time to be considered for the team.
