Adidas Nations- Sunday

CHICAGO - The Adidas Nations Experience continued on Sunday as the assembled teams battled for the right to play in Monday night's nationally televised final. As it turns out the United States 2011 and 2012 squads will meet for a rematch and event title. 2012's Isaiah Austin confirmed that he'll be deciding on Monday night and he was among the day's standouts.

Sunday standouts

Isaiah Austin, C- Monday night, Austin will choose from Baylor, Kentucky, Arizona, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Connecticut, on Sunday he was showing flashes of brilliance. Everybody would love to see more consistent production out of him, but the fact is that he's young, developing and a highly unique talent. His ball handling and shooting ability is near absurd for a guy his size and he does block or alter lots of shots.

Ryan Boatright, PG- Everybody knows that Boatright can score and that he's an electrifying athlete. He's certainly showed that. But, with lots of talent around him, he's proving to be a much, much better playmaker than he's been given credit for.

Cody Zeller, PF/C- The slender big man from Indiana has been quietly effective. He's not gotten a ton of touches, but he's made a lot out of those touches he does get. He's playing stronger around the rim and with a little more physicality than he did at times this summer. He confirmed that he's down to North Carolina, Indiana and Butler.

Xavier Johnson, SF- The lefty native of California had a really nice night in a win over Team Africa. He hit on a few two-dribble pull-ups in the mid-range and slashed to the rim. He played hard on both ends and seems to be finding his groove on the wing.

Cesar Guerrero, PG- Playing for Latin America, Guerrero has had a terrific event. He's a very clever scorer, quick with the ball and is playing the most under control basketball of his young life. The kid is pretty banged up at this point but he keeps bringing it on every possession.

Hanner Perea, PF- The 2012 dunking machine plays the game with relentless effort and he's mind numbingly explosive off of the floor. He's attacking bigs off the dribble and charges so hard that he's virtually impossible to keep away from the rim. It's pretty much impossible to not enjoy watching him play.

Michael Chandler, C- Here's a kid who has taken some criticism to heart and really worked on his game. He's in much better shape than a few months ago, playing with good energy and has been committed to rebounding and scoring the ball in the post when given the opportunity. Good finish to the summer for him even if he hasn't racked up huge numbers.

More Sunday notes, school lists

Quincy Miller was at it again on Sunday night. He scored at will off the dribble and had the jumper going for a bit. He's noticeably more explosive off of the floor than he was at the start of the summer. ... LeBryan Hash has been borderline dominant in Chicago. He's a man on the wing and is going at people's throats looking for the kill. ... 2012 wing Alex Murphy sat out with an injury. ...

Michael Chandler gave a list that included Kentucky, Oklahoma, Connecticut, Miami, Providence, Tennessee, Indiana and Purdue.

Xavier Johnson said that he's been gone so much that he hasn't really had a chance to talk to many coaches. However, he listed UNLV, USC, UCLA, Stanford, Georgetown and Syracuse.

Damien Leonard is down to Oklahoma State, South Carolina and Arizona. He said that he'll trip to Stillwater during September but hasn't set the exact date yet.

Quinn Cook rattled off a list that included Duke, North Carolina, Arizona, UCLA, St. John's, Rutgers, Georgetown, Villanova and Connecticut.
