More Trojans are Tweeting
Social media conquers all, apparently.
Even a tradition-minded USC football program that, for all the right reasons, has never put the players' names on the backs of their jerseys can't resist.
So this week, USC listed for those of you who can't get enough Trojans football, the names and Twitter addresses of the USC football players sharing their lives, thoughts and up-to-the-minute moments for followers to see.
And so you don't have to, we'll review the players here.
Quarterback Matt Barkley (@MattBarkley) has the most followers, 3,032, and has posted 83 Tweets -- but nothing since Feb. 20.
Wide receiver Brice Butler (@USCnumber19) has 723 followers but has protected his tweets. Notable among the 83 folks he's following is Olympic speedster Allyson Felix.
Wide receiver Brandon Carswell (aka @TheDidster ) also has protected tweets but in addition to a number of teammates in the 105 he's following is an eclectic group including Lane Kiffin, sportswriter/ESPN personality Michael Wilbon, ESPN NFL Draft Insider Adam Schefter, the NFL Network, Kanye West, Princeton African-Amercan studies scholar Cornel West, cartoonist Aaron McGruder and ex-Trojans in the NFL and Steve Smith.

C.J. Gable (@CJ_Gable) is serious about this with 13 tweets today as I write this with one to Mark Sanchez and follows the likes of Michael Jordan, John C. Reilly, Will Ferrell, Rey Maualuga, 50cent, Keary Colbert, Snoop Dogg, LenDale White and Pete Carroll.
Linebacker Chris Galippo (@ChrisGalippo) would have loved it if spring break had started earlier, even unofficially last Thursday ("Only 27 people showed up to class, in a class that usually has around 60. Why as a teacher wouldn't you just cancel the think? (sic). Topping Galippo's list of folks he's following: Defensive coordinator Ed Orgeron followed by the likes of The Office's Rainn Wilson, Clay Matthews, Reggie Bush, Justin Timberlake, Lamar Odom, Matt Leinart, Stafon Johnson and Derek Fisher.
Khaled Holmes (@7kdiddy8) joins those wailing on Gable for attending a Clippers game and notably follows AD Mike Garrett, Jeanie Buss, Conan O'Brien, SI's Peter King, Alicia Keys, Tracy Morgan and John Legend.
Based on his last tweet on eating "a ton of food" Monday night and topping it off with "New York cheesecake," offensive tackle Matt Kalil (@trojanfire75) may have a shot at keeping his weight up near the 300 pounds he tips the scales at right now.
Tailback Curtis McNeal (@moodythegreat5) has protected his tweets but is following USC alum/actor LeVar Burton of "Roots" fame.
Cornerback Byron Moore (@Bmoore9) opens with a shout-out to his dad, Byron Sr.'s, birthday and mostly limits the folks he's following to coaches and teammates with the exception of Shaquille O'Neal.

Some Orgeron highlights: Two weeks to spring ball. competition will be fierce, I can't wait till our big men crank it up," and "The trojans just finished a great 6am workout. attitude is fantastic. conditioning and mental tuffness are improving" and finally "i told matt cassel that as soon as he and his beautiful wife had a son, i would offer him a scholarship".
