Category rankings: Athletes


The Rivals.com recruiting experts have broken down countless hours of film and racked up plenty of frequent flyer miles to see the top prospects compete at events across the country. In the process of evaluating overall talent, several prospects gained notice for their mastery of specific skills.

We've selected the best of the best in each category for every position and ranked them. Rivals.com recruiting analyst Barry Every breaks down the athletes.

4. Keanon Lowe, Portland (Ore.) Jesuit
Lowe Highlights

BUZZ: The two-way star had 42 receptions and three picks last season. Lowe has committed to Washington.

BUZZ: He's built like Alabama freshman running back Trent Richardson but gifted enough to play quarterback in high school.

BUZZ: He ran a blazing 4.37 in the 40-yard dash at the National Underclassmen Southwest Ultimate100 this summer.

BUZZ: This Clemson commitment has run a 10.4 in the 100 meters and won the state title in the 200 meters (21.42).

BUZZ: The two-way star defended his Portland metro title in the 100 meters and 200 meters in the spring.

BUZZ: He could play either receiver or safety at the next level as well as quarterback from the "Wildcat" formation.
