Friday Practice Report

On the second day of fall camp, practice shifts to the morning. The Tigers went through workout number two at 7:15 a.m. on the Kadlec Athletic practice fields. gives you the scoop on all the action.

*Standout day for Blaine Gabbert in my opinion. Wes Kemptold me after practice that Gabbert has always been able to "throw that heater," but he has come a long way in putting touch on the ball. Both abilities were on display this morning. In 7-on-7, Gabbert floated a beautiful sideline pattern to Perry in between double coverage. In 11-on-11, he zipped a fastball to Danario Alexander that barely made it past the outstretched hands of a linebacker. Alexander then spun away from the tackle and took the ball upfield for a nice gain.

Play(s) of the Day: Freshman linebacker Donovan Bonner had three takeaways. Early on, he intercepted Blaine Dalton over the middle. Later, he stripped Forrest Shock and then Gilbert Moye and the defense recovered both. Bonner told us he's up to 240 right now. I don't make many predictions this early in camp, but I think Bonner's going to play this year.

The Tigers return to the practice field on Saturday morning at 7:15.
