Top junior DL preparing for junior season

Spring Westfield has produced great football teams under the direction of head coach Corby Meekins, but possessing talent such as Desmond Jackson has made the coach's job much easier.

Jackson has been pegged early as the top defensive lineman in the class of 2011 in Texas, racking up 64 tackles as a sophomore in one of the toughest districts in the state.

The 6-foot-1, 269-pounder is already gaining significant interest from Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, Alabama, UCLA and Vanderbilt. Prospects in the class of 2011 cannot be officially offered a scholarship until Sept. 1, 2009.
