Three-star running back wants return visit

Three-star running back Brandon Smith is hoping to make a trip down to Mississippi State before the end of the summer.

The 6-foot-0, 215-pounder from Lonoke, Ark., visited the Starkville campus this spring for junior day and is hoping that another one would land him his first offer.

"When I went down to their junior day, (the MSU coaches) told me that they wanted to see me in camp," Smith said. "They wanted to see me run and my footwork. They said that after they saw me then they would decide if they wanted me to be one of their top recruits. They seemed very interested when I went down. I really haven't been to many camps so I know a lot of those dates have past. I've just got to call my recruiting coach and ask."

Smith stated that he is still learning about Mississippi State but really liked the facilities he got to see while at junior day. He is hoping on his next trek that he will get to see the rest of campus and learn more about the football program.

"I know a little bit about the offense that they run and I know a couple of their players," Smith said. "I think they've got a pretty good campus. It was pretty nice. I got to see some of the dorms and they showed me around the locker room. I didn't get to see the weight room because of the time but liked what I saw. It was nice and you could move, easy access I guess."

One player on the Bulldogs roster that Smith has gotten to know is senior running back Anthony Dixon.
