Eggen makes stops in Madison, Iowa

A majority of Badger fans were surprised to find out Wednesday night that Dallas Lewallen, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound offensive tackle from Berlin (Wis.), was the first in-state lineman to receive an offer from the University of Wisconsin.

In-staters Matt Eggen and Zac Epping, two players currently sporting three-star rankings, have received more attention than the less-heralded Lewallen.

That said, Eggen, who many consider the top lineman in Wisconsin's 2010 class, was in attendance during last week's three-day advanced camp and has yet
to receive an offer from the Badgers.

Thursday night, BadgerBlitz.com caught up with the 6-foot-5, 290-pound tackle to discuss his recent trip to Madison.

"I attended their camp on Sunday and Monday," stated the La Crosse Logan prospect. "I thought I preformed pretty well. We went through four practices.

"I did pretty well. Honestly, not the best, but I guess you could say I did pretty well.

After his two-day stop in Madison, Eggen hit the road for a trip to Iowa City where he took in a one-day camp with the Hawkeyes.

"Actually, I was at the Iowa camp on Tuesday," he said. "It was pretty much the same as Wisconsin. Both schools told me they'd be in contact within the next couple days.

"Maybe I'll get an offer from Iowa," continued Eggen.

"Wisconsin, however, I'm not too sure of."
Eggen currently holds offers from Indiana, Minnesota, Buffalo, Illinois State, Marshall, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Western Michigan, North Dakota, and North Dakota State.
