Rivals100 WR talks UA
Galena Park (TX) wide receiver DeAndrew White spent the spring watching his offer list climb to well over a dozen of the nation's top programs. The Rivals100 member has plenty of options open to him, including an offer from the Alabama Crimson Tide.
"Alabama definitely has great coaches, good gameday atmosphere and fans, and I like their style of football too. They've got a lot of positives," said White, rated the nation's No. 11 wide receiver prospect.
While White had positive things to say about the Tide, the 6-foot, 170-pound receiver isn't anywhere near ready to start naming favorites.
"Everybody is even with me right now," said White. "I'm still learning about every school and their coaching staffs and trying to give everybody a fair chance to talk to me. I don't want to shut anybody out at this point."
White said his plans are to start deciding on a list of final contenders after the summeris over.
"I will definitely take all my visits this fall before I make a decision. I will probably decide who is getting the visits once school starts back up."
With such a diverse list of offers ranging from nearby schools like Texas and Oklahoma to schools a bit further away like Alabama, Florida and Notre Dame, White said he is open to attending school far from home if he feels it's the right fit.
"I don't have a problem going somewhere outside of Texas. I'm hearing from a lot of schools all over the country and if the school I like the most is in another state, I have no problem leaving Texas to be there. I just want to find the right fit for me."
As a junior, White hauled in 34 receptions for 801 yards and 10 touchdowns.
