Darkwa gearing up for the camp season

Opoku-Darkwa rushed for 1,952 yards and 21 scores on 212 carries in 2008 and also caught six passes for 246 yards and two scores. As a sophomore, he rushed 1,412 yards and 13 scores on 174 carries.

"My weight is about 200lbs right now. We did broad jump recently, and I got a 9'6.

"The only camp that is set in stone is the Tennessee camp on June 2nd. I was planning on going to Georgia's camp on June 13th, but I have to take the ACT on that date, so that is out of the question, but I hope to go down there and check out the college soon. I will most likely attend Vanderbilt's camp, I just don't know which date yet. And I will be attending one or two more camps. My family and I are deciding from Clemson, Duke, UNC, Illinois and some others. I know I'll be attending some camps this summer."

The 5-foot-10, 192-pound junior had a breakout season in 2008, leading the Tigers to a undefeated regular season record and rushing for nearly 2,000 yards and over 20 touchdowns.

Known for his powerful running style, he recently ran a 4.53 in the forty-yard dash inside Ensworth's gym, so that time could be even better on grass. He also has a bench max of 285 pounds and a vertical leap of 34.5 inches. He sees the positives in his game and knows what other areas he needs to improve on.
