Galloway chasing stars at Southwest DeKalb
DECATUR, Ga.--When Lonnie Galloway marched on Georgia recently during the evaluation period, one must stop was DeKalb High School here. A school of champions, the suburban institution has been recognized for academics, a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, girls' track and girls' basketball.
Gold winner Angelo Taylor won first place in the 400-meter hurdles in the 2000 and 2008 Games. The school boasts the highest minority AP average scores in the nation and the girls' teams have won five consecutive state championships between them.
