Xavier's path finally leads to KU

On Novembr 18, 2008, Bill Self received devastating news. On that particular day, Self was delivered a crushing blow when elite shooting guard Xavier Henry announced his intentions to sign with Memphis instead of Kansas, the school his father, Carl, mother, Barbara, and aunt, Vicky Adkins, attended. In fact, many believed from the very beginning that C.J. Henry (older brother), along with Xavier, one of the nations truly elite players, would don the Crimson and Blue uniform. It might have taken longer than expected, but at a press conference late last week, Xavier announced his intentions to play for Self and the Jayhawks. Instead of following John Calipari to Kentucky, Xavier decided to follow his heart to Kansas.

From the time Kansas began recruiting Henry, the 6-foot-6, 225-pound shooting guard from Putnam City High School in Warr Acres, Okla., he was considered a "cant miss" prospect and a lock to follow in the footsteps of his father, Carl, mother, Barbara and aunt, Vicky Adkins.
