Bost building confidence at State

Being a freshman in the Southeastern Conference isn't easy at any position but especially point guard.

Mississippi State's Dee Bost has looked anything but rattled in his first three conference games helping jump start the Bulldogs to a 3-0 league record. Bost is averaging 15.3 points and seven assists per game since SEC play began.

Bost and the Bulldogs will have their second SEC road test tomorrow night traveling down to Baton Rouge, La., to take on the LSU Tigers. MSU proved they could win on the road already with a 70-56 win over Arkansas on Jan. 10.

"The Arkansas win was a big win," Bost said. "It was a good environment to play in. I feel that if we can play there and win then we can play anywhere on the road. We've just to come with our A-game."

State has won the past two SEC Western Division crowns and currently sit alone atop the division with their 3-0 mark. The Tigers are 2-1 in the league and are undefeated at 12-0 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

"Coach (Rick Stansbury) said right now that we are the team to beat," Bost said. "LSU is a very experienced team so if we go and take care of them then we will be the team to beat in the West."

LSU is one of the few veteran teams in the SEC having the luxury of starting three seniors as well as having two coming off the bench as top reserves. But playing against all that experience does not seem to concern the former four-star recruit.
