Shumpert talks about his commitment

With two seniors graduating at the end of the season, Mississippi State will need a big blocker to open up holes for their rushing attack.

Enter William Shumpert/db].

The 6-foot-0, 238-pound three-star fullback from Fulton, Miss., said the Bulldog coaches have discussed with him replacing [db]Brandon Hart and Eric Hoskins at the end of the season.

"They have talked to me a little bit about it," Shumpert said. "I'm looking forward to seeing what is going to happen."

Shumpert committed in mid-July and said the MSU coaching staff has been in touch ever since.

"Coach (J.B.) Grimes calls me just to see how I'm doing," Shumpert said. "I like coaches like that just keep up to date with you. That let's you know that they care about you."

Shumpert said the coaching staff played a major role in him giving his commitment over the summer. He saw similarities in the Bulldogs coaching staff to those of his high school Itawamba AHS.
