Blazers Land Four-Star Recruit

UAB has a new football commitment - a four-star player who is one of the top junior college players in the nation.

Justin Jordan, a 5-11, 190-pound wide receiver from Blinn Community College in Brenham, Texas has confirmed that he will be joining to UAB next season. "UAB is where I want to leave my football legacy," Jordan said.

Jordan is a ranked by Rivals.com as the seventh best JUCO wide receiver in the nation and the 39th best junior college player prospect overall. The four-star recruit was one of the Blazers' top prospects, valued for his 4.4 speed and his pass catching prowess.

Jordan has a vertical leap of 35 inches and bench presses 345 pounds and his scheduled to complete his JUCO studies in December. He was recruited by schools in the Big 12, the Pac 10 and the SEC, and received offers from Kentucky, Arizona, California, and Southern Miss, among others.

Jordan said he became interested in UAB after his former position coach at Blinn CC, Tony Haynes, took a position as video assistant for the Blazers. "That was a major factor," he said.

But Jordan was also impressed with the rest of the coaches. "I've talked with most of them by phone," he said. "They're all pretty cool."

Jordan believes the coming to UAB will be a mutually beneficial relationship. "I think UAB can take me to a lot of places," he said, "and I think I can help take UAB to a lot of places."
