Video: Sims is near perfect

Blake Sims hit the scene a year ago when we named him as a player to watch after he led Cass to victory over Cartersville. He was a sophomore at the time, but a lot has changed since then.

Now, he is a junior and he is at Gainesville High School playing in a spread offense. That offense fits him perfectly. He is athletic, he has a live arm, he is an accurate passer, and he had a huge opening game.

The 2010 dual-threat quarterback is just over 6-feet tall, but don't doubt his ability to play quarterback on the next level. He may not be suited for every offense, but he will be a perfect fit for some.

He is physical and strong enough to play safety as well, but he brings a lot to the table on the offensive side of the ball. Against Chestatee in the opener, he finished with only two incomplete passes and he threw for close to 270 yards.

Check out these clips from Sims performance against Chestatee.

Quick Notes: Sims started at safety as a freshman at Cass before moving to quarterback there as a sophomore. He is now playing QB and a little safety if needed at Gainesville. He could play either on the next level. West Virginia is showing heavy interest in Sims early.
