Wednesday Practice Report

The Alabama football team continued preparations for Western Kentucky on Wednesday at the Thomas-Drew Practice Facility with a practice in full pads. Here are some observations from the media viewing period by BamaOnLine:

*** Marlon Davis was not in black, but did not participate in individual drills at the beginning of practice. Davis, who suffered a pulled hamstring against Tulane, is expected to play this Saturday against the Hilltoppers. If Davis is not ready to go Sophomore David Ross will likely get his second career start.

*** The Crimson Tide's defensive dime package looked to be the same on Wednesday with Ali Sharrief and Marquis Johnson coming in as the extra defensive backs. Chavis Williams ran with the first team in the dime package and Reamer ran with the second. Williams is most likely runs with the second team for his ability to rush the passer.

*** Scout Team Update: 'Jack' linebacker Alex Watkins continued to work in the #46 posing as the Western Kentucky Linebacker Braxston Miller. Also running back Jeramie Griffin wore #1 posing as the Hilltopper running back Tyrell Hayden.

*** The Crimson Tide will practice on Thursday at 3:30 and will be closed to the media.
