Lott says visit to UGA was live

One of the most athletic defensive linemen in the south visited Athens on Saturday and he loved it. Derrick Lott of Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb visited Georgia to see them take on Georgia Southern and he had a great visit.

"Everything went good while I was there and it was a great visit," said Lott. "Georgia was packed, it was sold out, a lot of fans were there, and the atmosphere was live. It was just great being back out there at Georgia and I loved the experience."

A week before the Dawgs kicked off the 2008 season, Lott visited Athens to take in the UGA practice. He got to meet some players then and he hooked up with them again on Saturday.

"I talked to A.J. Green and Jeremy Lomax again and they are both real cool. All of the players I have met at Georgia are cool. We just talked about different things and I enjoy talking to them."

The 6-foot-5, 260 pound athletic defensive lineman also spent some time with a number of the Bulldogs coaches. Mark Richt, Willie Martinez, Stacy Searels, and Rodney Garner were the ones he talked to this weekend.

"Coach Richt said he was glad to have me at the game and he let me know everything will go good with my offer if I get my grades and test score taken care of."
