Lynch sees opportunities for true freshmen

A handful of IU's true freshmen have a chance at a rare accomplishment. They could play in a college football game before ever setting foot in a college classroom.

Indiana opens its season with Western Kentucky on Saturday - a mere three days before the academic semester begins. The Hoosiers will field a team that returns 13 starters on both sides of the ball, but the veterans might not be plentiful enough to keep all of IU's true freshmen off the field.

In head coach Bill Lynch's estimation, a handful of them have a chance of playing Saturday or at some point during the season.
