Wilson adds new offers
Trey Wilson (5-11, 180) has been a hot commodity for a while now and more programs continue to send offers his way as we head towards the start of the 2008 season. The two new programs to throw their hats in the ring for the talented defensive back are Northwestern and Stanford. Add those schools to the offers he currently holds from TCU, Tulane, SMU, Vanderbilt, La Tech and La-Monroe and it's plain to see that Wilson has plenty of options.
PurpleMenace.Com caught up with Trey to get his thoughts on the recruiting process and to see if he had begun to narrow his focus at this point.
"Actually, the recruiting process had slowed down quite a bit but it's starting to pick back up" said Wilson. "The coaches can start contacting us once a week on September the first so it's about to really pick up again."
With his first high school game of his senior year right around the corner, has the Evangel defender began narrowing his list yet?
"Not really, I'm open to everyone right now. I'm just trying to stay in contact with all of the schools that have offered me and I will make a decision when I feel like the time is right" said Wilson.
With teammate Quinn Giles also being recruited by TCU, have the two discussed playing ball together at the next level and is TCU an option for the both of them?
"Oh yes sir, all the time. It's always being brought up about us playing together but we'll see, hopefully it works out that way. TCU is definitely a school that we are interested in."
Wilson and his Evangel teammates just finished their first scrimmage over the weekend. They will take the field again Friday for another scrimmage and then the real fun will begin. We asked Trey what his goals were for his senior year.
"I want to go undefeated and win a state championship. We have a lot of talent and I think it's something that we can do" Wilson said excitedly.
Make no mistake, TCU will track the progress of this young man throughout the season. With more teams sure to enter the fray as the season winds on, Frog fans hope that Wilson will keep his mind open to what TCU has to offer both on and off of the field. Stay tuned to PurpleMenace.Com for the latest news on this and all other TCU recruiting information.
