Williams will miss Villanova, maybe more

MORGANTOWN--Reed Williams, West Virginia's ring-leader in 2007 tackles and the defensive Most Valuable player of the Mountaineers' program-changing Fiesta Bowl victory over Oklahoma, will sit out the first game. Maybe more.

For the first time since undergoing surgeries on each shoulder starting last winter, the 6-foot-2, 225-pound field general for the West Virginia defense explained the path his early-season playing time will take in a Thursday interview.
