Four-star corner sees recruitment soar

While at times it seems that Oregon State thrives on getting the under-the-radar recruit, it doesn't mean that head coach Mike Riley and his staff ignore the big names. Brandon Sermons, a speedy 6-foot, 176-pound cornerback from Diamond Ranch High School in Pomona, California, has certainly caught the Beavers' eyes. Currently ranked a four-star prospect and one of the top defensive backs on the West, Sermons not surprisingly has offers from up and down the West Coast - and OSU is right in the mix for his services.

Recruiting is no doubt at an all-time high for Sermons after a sizzling summer. But his immediate focus is on what starts up next month.

"Right now I'm really working hard, getting ready for senior season," Sermons said. "We dominated in passing league and it was a good summer. Right now, I'm focusing on getting bigger and faster and getting our team all-together."
