Sermons delivers

This is a very deep year for defensive backs in the Golden State. If your college team needs one, no doubt that they were out in California in the spring and most likely will return in the fall. One of the very best corners, not only in the state, but the entire country is four-star cornerback Brandon Sermons (6-1, 190, 4.5) from Pomona (Calif.) Diamond Ranch.

Sermons only played in seven games his junior year because of some faulty paperwork regarding his transfer to Diamond Ranch from La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat.

In his seven games only five passes were caught on him all season.

"Brandon is really a lockdown corner," Diamond Ranch head coach Rodney Layton said. "He's thicker than most corners and he's physically very strong. He has long arms and is a very fast kid."

"You really have to see game tape to really appreciate how good Brandon is," Layton said. "Only on game tape can you see how Brandon takes away a whole side of the field. Teams rarely threw is way."
