Williams plans return this season

MORGANTOWN--WVU physicians and trainers have put Fiesta Bowl MVP linebacker Reed Williams on a program that may get him ready by Aug. 1 to participate in fall ball at West Virginia, according to strength and conditioning director Mike Joseph.

"A lot of it has to do with me," Williams said Thursday afternoon at a media confab, "how much pain can I take. But I definitely want to play this season and go out with my boys."

Williams led the team with 107 tackles in 2007 playing with two bad shoulders as the Mountaineers went to their fifth straight January bowl. The senior from Moorefield also was named to the ESPN the Magazine first team All-Academic squad.
