Steen still hoping for Ole Miss offer
Anthony Steen was glad when Ole Miss came to Clarksdale, Miss., to see him and his Lee Academy teammates practice.
He admitted, however, that he's a little baffled that the Rebels haven't offered a scholarship or indicated than an offer was imminent.
"Ole Miss came to my school to see me and just wanted to talk and stuff," Steen said. "They just talked about how I was an what I had been doing and that they wanted me to play defense for them and stuff like that."
Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Florida State and Miami also came to school, and those four programs have offered. Steen is scheduled to take an unofficial visit to Miami next month. Still, he's hoping for an offer from Ole Miss and would gladly entertain the Rebels' advances if one came.
"I would like them to but why they haven't already is making me wonder," Steen said. "I don't have a clue why they haven't."
The 6-foot-4, 297-pounder could play offensive or defensive line at the next level. He's just not sure who he'll play for.
"I can't really say who leads right now," Steen said.
