New leader for Sirles?

At 6-foot-8, 275-pounds, Jeremiah Sirles is used to standing out. When you're that big, it's usually hard to go unnoticed, and that's certainly been the case with the Colorado native on the gridiron.

Sirles, whose specialty is pass protection, now holds ten offers, with the most recent coming from Pac-10 country.

"I just got an Oregon offer," said Sirles. "The coach was here the other day and he offered me and said the letter with the official offer was in the mail, so I should be getting that any day now. I'm really excited about that because Oregon's a great school."

The standout left tackle has said from the start that he intends to take his time with the recruiting process, and nothing has changed on that front.

"I'm still just taking it easy," said Sirles. "I'm not in any hurry. I'm still looking to keep going about it slowly and take my official visits and make a decision some time in the middle or toward the end of my season. I've got the summer to take some trips, but I want to make sure I take my officials as well. Other than that, it's just going to be the same old, same old, I'm just going to keep building relationships with coaches and trying to figure out where I'll be the most comfortable."

Sirles has already made several unofficial visits, but says he plans to make a few more this summer.

"I'm hoping to make it back down to Tech again," he explained. "And then definitely to Oregon and I'd like to see Louisville as well."

The massive lineman says that, for now, his newest offer is his favorite.

"I'd say right now it's probably Oregon first and then Tech right behind them," he explained. "Tech is definitely recruiting me the hardest, and they write me the most letters and everything else too, and then Oregon has great facilities and it's where my aunts grew up and it's just gorgeous and everything, so those are two really good schools. I love both of their offenses and can see myself in both places, so that's a good problem."

However, it's not so much the scenery or the facilities that have Sirles thinking of the Ducks, it probably has more to do with the cleverness of the Oregon staff.

"They're smart," he said of the Oregon coaches with a laugh. "They know that the way to a recruit always goes through his mom, and they sent her a Mother's Day card, so I think that really got her thinking about them. Who knows though, there's still a long ways to go, so we'll see."
