Brinson hopes to seize opportunity

With the running back competition wide open, there is clearly an opportunity for a newcomer to step in and earn some playing time for the Hawkeyes in 2008. It is an opportunity that Florida native Jeff Brinson hopes to seize in his freshman year at Iowa. We caught up with Brinson to talk about when he will arrive in Iowa City, his goals for his first year, and more.

Q: How are things going as your senior year wraps up?

BRINSON: It's been great. My grades are looking good and it's been fun finishing things out?

Q: How much have you talked to the coaches since signing day?

BRINSON: Oh, a lot. I talk to Coach Kaczenski all of the time. We just talk about the running back position, how they want me to be prepared and ready by the time I get up there.

Q: What are some of your goals coming in your first year?

BRINSON: Just coming in there trying to learn the system, get used to it, and do the best I can.
