Georgia offers South Florida DB

A need for Georgia in the class of 2009 is cornerbacks, and they have decided to make one of the best in South Florida a target. The Rivals100 is now pushing double digit offers with this big one from out of the SEC.

"Georgia just offered me," said Carter in an interview over the weekend. "They called my dad, and they told him that they were offering me a scholarship."

"Georgia had been recruiting me a little, but not too hard. They had sent me a few letters, but I did not know they were going to offer me. It was kind of a surprise when my dad told me about it. He said they were going to mail the written offer to me soon."

The 6-foot-0, 155-pound corner out of Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely does not know a lot about the Bulldogs, but he does know a player he looks up to came from Athens.

"Champ Bailey is my favorite corner. I watch him in the NFL, and I think he is the best one in the league. I know he went to Georgia, but I do not know much about the school."

"I know they have a great team, and I have heard they have nice facilities, but I really do not know much about the coaches or program."

He does want to find out more about the Dawgs though.

"I am looking at all of the schools that have offered me, so I am going to learn more about Georgia, see what I can find out, and hopefully talk to one of their coaches soon. I want to see what they are about."

The Georgia offer inches the number 66 rated player in the country closer to double digits in offers. He received another SEC offer, and he thinks more offers are on their way.
