Four coaches visit Davenport

This week marked the beginning of the period where coaches can start to make in-school visits to the Class of 2009.

If amount of coaches is any indication of the level of interest, the LSU coaching staff definitely wants to keep one of the top defensive tackles in the entire country in their own backyard.

With the release of the new Rivals.com rankings, Mansfield defensive tackle Chris Davenport is now a five-star prospect. The 17th-best overall player in the country according to Rivals.com, the 6-4, 307-pound Davenport becomes the second five-star player in the State of Louisiana along with Bastrop wide receiver and the nation's sixth-best overall player in Rueben Randle.
