Petty up for busy weekend

Midlothian, Texas quarterback Bryce Petty quickly drew attention when he moved into town from Cabot, Ark., as a 6-3 freshman.

It did not take him long to show he could do more than pass the eyeball test earning district newcomer of the year honors as a sophomore. In 2007 he took his game up a notch grabbing first team 16-4A honors after throwing for 2,100 yards and 16 touchdowns.

At the Army All-American combine he continued to impress and college coaches are taking notice of the now 6-3, 215-pound signal caller equipped with 4.7 speed.

Recently Petty picked up his first scholarship offer.
