Ball taking his time
Wentzville (MO) Timberland RB Montee Ball saw recruiting start with quite a flourish, picking up four early offers from Missouri, Kansas, Northwestern, and Iowa State. Over the past few weeks, things have quieted a bit, and Ball said that it was more than ok with him. He knew in the coming weeks, things would pick up once again. Despite the slowdown, Ball got the chance to check out another spring practice.
With recruiting taking a bit of a backseat over the past few weeks, Ball has kept himself with school and with staying in shape to prepare for the fall. Along those same lines, Ball said he has finally gotten a chance to begin evaluating the different schools recruiting him as he prepares to begin speaking with coaches again.
When he can talk with coaches again, Ball said he is looking forward to re-connecting with the coaches he had started to develop strong relationships with. He said there was one coach in particular that he was looking forward to getting a call from.
While he has been able to make a few short visits over the spring, Ball admitted he had not done a whole lot in recruiting over the spring. This coming weekend, he was not completely sure of his plans, but admitted that he hoped that he would be able to join other recruits at one spring game this year.
Ball said one of the big things he had been working to figure out during his downtime was exactly where he would be camping over the summer. He said he had already planned to camp with the Oklahoma Sooners, but wasn’t sure who else may be on his list when it came to camps. He said the Tigers’ camp in St. Louis would be something he would be surprised if he missed, but hadn’t gotten things finalized at this point.
Ball knew this would probably the last chance he would have to relax in recruiting until he made his decision, but he was looking forward to the opportunity. While he wasn’t ready to name favorites, he did say that some things hadn’t changed since the beginning of the year.
