Georgia offers in-state athlete

A new prospect is emerging in the Peach State and he could end up being one of the top athletes in the state. Branden Smith has not been talked about much early on in 2008, but that is about to change now that he has picked up offers one and two.

"Georgia and Clemson have sent me written offers for Branden," said Booker T. Washington Head Coach Rodney Cofield.

"Georgia sent one first and Clemson just sent one recently."

A couple of more schools may join the Dawgs and Tigers soon.

"A lot of schools are showing a lot of interest in Branden, but I think Alabama and Florida State are about to offer him. They have talked to me about it over the phone, so I am just waiting for the papers to come through."

"I don't count offers as offers until I get them in my hands."

Smith is a 5-foot-11, 171-pound athlete that will likely play corner on the next level, but he could play receiver and he will likely get a look as a return man as well.

He has a lot of speed, athleticism, and he is capable of making game changing plays on either side of the ball.

The class of 2009 prospect is excited about his first two offers and he actually has ties to each school.
