UGA Commit thinking about Oklahoma

Early on in the 2008 recruiting season the Sooners tried to enter the race for Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove four-star athlete Xavier Avery. As time wore on it turned out to be his teammate, Joshua Jarboe that the Sooners made the real impact on picking up a commitment from the Rivals100 wide receiver.

However the Sooners never stopped working on Avery, even after his commitment to Georgia last October. That diligence paid off as Avery came to Norman this weekend to see what the Sooners had to offer.

"It was real cool, the visit went pretty well," Avery said. "I was hosted by Dominique Franks and big Duke Robinson, we just hung out.

"I got along real well with those guys; it was my first time to meet Duke."
