Ingram Jr. draws a crowd at Jenison Fieldhouse

EAST LANSING - Four-star running back Mark IngramJr. stood out like a sore thumb on the track at Jenison Field House on Monday.

With his broad shoulders and muscular physique, The 5-foot-10, 210-pound running back is built like he could be one of the state's top shot-putters, ala former Spartan TJ Duckett. But with the times he clocked in the 60, the 4 x 200 and the 4 x 400 relays, Ingram showed himself to be one of the state's top sprinters.

Ingram was around 40 pounds heavier than most of the other sprinters he faced on the track at Jenison. But Ingram was among the sprinters on the track, cruising to an easy victory in his heat run in the 60 and finishing second overall in the 60 with a 6.99. Ingram was beaten by Jackson's Tyler Thomas who has been running the 60 with regularity during the indoor track season.
Michigan State commitment Myles White, another dynamic sprinter, was impressed with what he saw from Ingram.
