Freeman hears from NCAA
Shortly after the 2007 season came to a close Miami quarterback Kirby Freeman decided it was time for him and Miami to go separate ways. It was not long after that he decided to transfer to Baylor to be closer to home and pursue a graduate degree not offered at Miami.
There was however one obstacle, since he was transferring to another Football Bowl Sub-division (FBS) team he would need a special waiver from the NCAA in order to play his senior season.
The NCAA closed the loophole that allowed players with senior eligibility to transfer without penalty after last year.
