Freeman headed to Baylor
Kirby Freeman entered the 2007 season with expectations high. He was the starting quarterback for the Miami Hurricanes, a program looking to bounce back from a few sub-Miami-esq seasons under the guidance of first-year head coach Randy Shannon.
The season didn't have a story book ending though and Freeman and senior Kyle Wright were not able to get the Hurricanes' offense on track.
Shortly following a 5-7 2007 season Freeman sat down with head coach Randy Shannon and offensive coordinator Patrick Nix, and after hearing what they had to say decided it was time to look at other options.
