Video: Thomas to Georgia is now official

Two and a half months have passed since talented Florida athlete Carlton Thomas visited Georgia officially and gave the Dawgs a soft verbal commitment before leaving. He has since visited West Virginia and was closing in on making his official announcement in January. The departure of Rich Rodriguez left there no need for a press conference and Thomas made his commitment to Georgia solid on Monday.

Thomas said, "you can make my commitment solid now," Monday evening. The 5-foot-7, 175-pound athlete ran for over 2,400 yards this season and scored 26 touchdowns.

He chose Georgia over West Virginia, Notre Dame, Clemson, Auburn and Iowa. Georgia will likely use him on special teams, at running back and some at receiver.

The Frostproof (Fla.) native can do a lot on the offensive side of the ball and could be a steal for UGA. Many think he is an outside runner because of his size, but he also runs with strength and power on the inside. Thomas is big in the weight room, he has a great burst and he is a threat when he touches the ball.

We caught up with this future Bulldog to see what he had to say about his commitment to UGA, why he chose the Dawgs, what led him to his decision, what current Dawg he plays like and much more.

Don't miss this exclusive interview with Thomas. You can hear what he has to say, learn more about him as a person and get to know who the Dawg Nation will be cheering for in the future.
