Jones to move to Athens soon
One of the nine official visitors in Athens this weekend was Centreville (Ala.) offensive lineman Ben Jones.
"I got to go to the GALA, the basketball game, we toured the campus, we learned about the academic program, I met some players and spent time with the coaches," said Jones when asked about his visit to Georgia.
Jones visited Athens a couple of times this fall and camped there over the summer, so he had a good idea about what Georgia was all about going into this visit. He enjoyed the entire trip, but two things really stood out to him.
"That GALA was crazy man - they were spending some money in there. They were paying over ten thousand dollars for that black Knowshon Moreno jersey and about that much for some trips to games next year. I have never seen anything like that before in my life. It was exciting and a lot of fun."
"The academic presentation really stuck with me because Georgia makes academics a key. They really stay on your grades and they offer a lot of support with the tutors. That is the first thing UGA is concerned with and I like that."
Between the GALA on Friday, the campus tour and academic presentation on Saturday, he had some time to hang out with some players too.
