Notebook: Tuberville and AD meeting Monday

With Tommy Tuberville's name being mentioned with several prominent job openings and potential job openings, AU's head coach plans to sit down with Auburn Athletic Director Jay Jacobs Monday to discuss his current deal and potential facility improvements.

"It'll be talk about the season and, of course, the president will evaluate our performance," said Tuberville. "I'll make some recommendations and we'll go from there."

Tuberville said neither he or his agent Jimmy Sexton have been contacted by any other schools but his name has been mentioned the most in regards to the opening at Texas A&M.

A story in Sunday's Houston Chronicle, however, says that Houston Texans offensive coordinator Mike Sherman is the leading candidate for the Aggie job. Former Notre Dame coach Bob Davie and Boise State coach Chris Peterson were also mentioned as potential candidates, but not Tuberville.

Tuberville could also be a candidate for potential openings at LSU, where head coach Les Miles is rumored as a candidate for the Michigan job, and at Arkansas, where head coach Houston Nutt's job may be in jeopardy.
