Visit upcoming for Steeples

DeSmet CB Robert Steeples was very close to one of the biggest goals of his season, the Show Me state title game. Before he and his teammates got there, they ran into the Rockhurst Hawklets. Steeples said he was hoping that he wouldn't let one game dampen his senior season, even if it was a frustrating loss.

Steeples said the weekend got better when his future team picked up their tenth win of the season. He said that although the first half had him uneasy, his fears were alleviated. It was also nice to see several of his future teammates continue to step up in recent weeks.

Steeples has stayed in constant touch with his recruiter from Missouri, Cornell Ford. The two have enjoyed their time talking with each other, and as the end of the season has neared, have been able to narrow down a time to take his official visit.

As one of the first members of Missouri's 2008 class, Steeples said he has tried to stay in touch with several of the other recruits in the class. The news has been good for them recently, and Steeples added that he has been talking with others about their seasons as well.

Before he can take his official visit, Steeples said he would be like everyone else next weekend watching the Missouri-Kansas game. Steeples admitted that he wanted to be at the game, but laughed that maybe it was for the best.
