Edwards riding high
Arlington (TX) Bowie CB Kip Edwards has had it pretty good over the last few weeks. After committing to Missouri following the Iowa State game, Edwards said the past few weeks have been very relaxing after many weeks of staying incredibly busy.
Edwards said after the Iowa State game that he was going to try and catch up with some of his other fellow commits, including working on getting another talented player to end up at Missouri. Edwards joked that there wasn't much he had to do.
Edwards said he has also spent time talking with Coach Craig Kuligowski. The two became good friends over the recruiting process and since the commitment have gotten down to some of the finer details of preparing to sign with Missouri.
Edwards said that he's been impressed how the Tigers have continued to improve over the past few weeks. Even though the starts have been slow, he's been impressed with how they've finished. He added that he liked seeing the defense step up after losing one of their leaders.
Edwards has already been in Columbia twice during recruiting, once in June, where he fell in love with Missouri, and again this past October when Missouri played Iowa State and he gave a verbal to the Tigers. Edwards said that based on the next week or so, there may be a chance that he gets up close and personal with the Tigers again before the season ends.
Edwards said that if he didn't see Missouri again in Kansas City, he wasn't sure when he would be around the Tigers again. For much of recruiting, he expected to be on campus sometime in January, but in recent weeks, could things have changed ever so slightly?
Until he has to decide, Edwards said he had plenty to focus on with Bowie in the state playoffs again this year. He hoped that they would be able to continue playing smart football and end their season exactly where they hope to.
