Speedy Reynaud Eludes Defenders and Publicity

MORGANTOWN-- While Pat White entertained a horde of media following West Virginia's 38-31 win over Louisville on Thursday night, Darius Reynaud sat alone on a couch across the room. Ignored by reporters, Reynaud seemed a little confused. Had he not just caught six passes for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns?

"I love that. A lot of people still tend to shy away from me. That doesn't bother me," Reynaud told one of only two scribes to matriculate in his direction. "I just love being a West Virginia football player."

It was not the first time the senior wide receiver was overlooked on Thursday evening. A few hours earlier, Reynaud had exploited a Cardinals' defense primed to stop White and WVU tailback Steve Slaton for two touchdown receptions - in the first half.

"I knew from watching film that I would get a lot of one on one coverage from them, and I knew that my skills would allow me to take advantage of that. As long as they play me straight up, though, Pat knows what to do. He'll change the play, and I'll make them pay."
